I have been looking for hub caps for my '65 C20 but have had no luck. It was suggested to me that my wheels may not be the original wheels and therefore, the hub caps for which I have been searching do not exist. I am wondering what rims would have been on a '65 C20 so that I can replace my rims with the correct ones.

hubcaps for any year did exist regardless of what wheels you have currently - the 3/4T caps may not be available repro, but the rims used would be common to 61 up - they have 3 "bumps" around the inner ring that the caps click onto, you'd have to post pics for anyone to say whether you have the right wheels, and indicate if 15 or 16"

Thanks Bill. I think the problem is that my wheels are not Chevy wheels. They may be Dodge. They are 16" but they have four "bumps". I didn't realize that the link to my photobucket was not listed but it is now along with photos of the wheel.

yes, they don't quite look right for Chev although I'm not sure Dodge has the same bolt pattern/spacing, but what'll count will be the diameter of the ring where the bumps are, it could be the same as original - but the 3/4T caps still aren't repro'd and will take some searchng to find good used

Those wheels are probably later model wheels. All chevy dodge and ford of the 60s and 70s used the same 8lug bolt pattern but fords had a large center hole. Your factory wheels should have internal clips and the proper hub caps should look like the c10 but have a lip on the back side like earlier hubcaps to accept the clips. I will see about getting a photo of one this weekend for you. You are still stuck looking for used hubcaps though. The c10s switched to the bumps in 61 but not the C20s.

Thanks everyone. The hole on my wheels does look a bit bigger than the hub so maybe they are Ford. The problem is that the existing hub caps are almost 12" inside diameter and I have not seen any Chevy caps that big. They also do not have clips. I would like to find the correct wheels so that I could get the caps.

Seems to me the original wheels where 16.5in split rims on a 3\4 ton werent they?

I dont seem to have any non split rim wheels anymore but I took a couple of photos of 15,16 and 16.5s that were all available in 65. 17.5s were also available. Shoot me an email and I will send the photos.

I have several 4-5-6 Chevy C20 trucks with the two-piece, 8 lug wheels, in lieu of the single piece steel wheels, also commonly found on these trucks. I have found the Truck Sales Data Books, chalked full of wheel information, for each of the years...massive amount of information to review and absorb.
