Purchased a nice looking 1950 about 2 weeks ago.
Truck starts like a champ, drives okay but carburetor whistles and has a flat spot on accelerating. Feels like a lack of linear response when stepping on gas pedal.
So before replacing the original Rochester
I get cute and spray the darn thing with carburetor cleaner. Now the engine won't start. Fuel is noticably leaking from several carburetor gaskets. Is this carburetor toast?

I picked up one from carb junkies out of Atlanta. It looked and worked like a brand new one. If I remember correctly I gave $150 for the carb. And it ran perfect right out of the box. And i did not have to worry about the carb anymore. | | |
