on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 4 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 4 | I have a 1953 One Ton with 7.00 x 17 rims and tires, they are 8 lug rims. I wonder if anyone has any ideas of what possible newer more avaliable rim and tire combination might work. In searching for new tires I'm finding only prices that end up being a thousand dollars for new tires and tubes and rubber type rim inserts covers. I'm in hopes that there may be a better less costly way to get better rubber on my old truck so I wont feel so at risk when shes up into that 45 mph top speed. Thank you for any help. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 224 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 224 | I bought newer, single piece rims and tubeless radials for about that price. It was hefty, but for me the ease of mind and future convenience for potential tire repairs was worth it.
New rubber will regardless have a big pricetag.

Just about any 8 lug wheel will fit and I hear rumors the Ford wheels have the best offset for the AD trucks. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 187 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 187 | I run Ford and Dodge wheels on my 50.
