I am new to the forum and new to classic trucks (although I have always loved them). Can anyone give me some information about the 292 engine? Anything at all would be great. I am trying to learn.

Largest of the later 194-230-250-292 series of GM inlines. Lots of torque and many are modified for inline drag racing or hot street engine. A performance manual by Leo Santucci is one of the references for mods that is popular. The web site
www.inliners.org has active discussions on these engines. More so than here I think. Check it out.

Another is www.hotrodinlines.com

Hope this helped a little.
