I have a '51 1/2 ton front axle for my '38. I want to upgrade to disc brakes with 6 lugs.
What rotor and caliper do I need that will fit the hub I have?

Thanks for all responses!

lol wayne i have a simlar prob, unless you wanna pay 400.00 plus for a conversion kit i don't think there is a way to go disk now for under 200 you can do a 5 lug, the brakets for a intermediate gm setup only run around 100

I spoke with the tech dept at CPP. They claim it uses a AR-8400 rotor.
I'm not sure about this because that rotor is for a '79 k10 pickup and it didn't fit when I checked it at NAPA.
Still looking....:)

have you checked with P.O.L.

P.O.L. uses the same rotor I've been looking at. However they mount it from the back side of the hub instead of the front. Their caliper bracket has an offset in it to allow for this.

Their kit price is double the price more than my FLAPS for the individual parts.

It gets more expensive when you include disc/drum master cylinder (if you’re doing that)...new plumbing (if needed)...Proportioning valve....check valves....Wheels? (Most kits may not clear stock wheels)…tapered wheel bearings (optional but recommended by some)...Caliper Bracket...New king pins while your at it....

Paperwork I have states the P.O.L. I purchased back in 2009
"THIS KIT USES: 1971-86 CHEVROLET K- 5/10 BLAZER 4WD ROTORS AND 1971-87 CHEVROLET C-10 TRUCK 2WD (HEAVY) CALIPERS."
Of course only use above as reference. Not confirmed or verified

Good Luck
