The instructions indicate the tach ground should connect to the battery negative or the chassis. I want to ground the tach to the firewall. I plan to bare the paint in an existing 3/16 hole and install a ground screw for the tach. Looking for some input.

I went out today and bought a heavy duty ground strap. Plan to clean the surface of the chassis and the cab and install the strap. That way I'm assured of having a good ground.
