Is there a difference?
I know the outer fenders are slightly different with extra holes drilled for the 54/55 grill, but I didn't think there would be a difference in the inner fender well. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 176 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 176 | Hi Whitedog,
The inner fenders are as you say very close. The main difference is the way the lowest part of the grill is attached to them. But, it just requires drilling a few holes. When I found a good set of the 48-53 inner fenders I used the old ones as a template for installation on my 55 first. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 1,775 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 1,775 | First off, thanks for the reply. I suspected the inner fenders differences were only subtle. Just [censored] the outer fenders difference are only slight. It's probably not worthwhile for a sheet metal manufacturer to use two different toolings on something that isn't going to be seen, when a few well placed holes are all they really need anyway. | | |
