I live in Texas so it gets hotter that Heck so I am researching A/C suppliers. Has anyone put one in and have recommendations? Also how did you put in the vents? Picture greatly appreciated.

Worth and look at their 49 type dash in the showroom which is a good unit. The very best AD style unit was by Air-Tique in Cleburne but the recession got them. Vintage Air out of San Antonio is the standard and very good but pricey. On a 52 we're doing we are putting a rear unit in also since it is Texas. I have pictures of a unit in a 49 but won't go through the hassle of getting it on this site since I'm on dial up and it takes forever to first put it on Photobucket and then to here. I would be glad to email them to you.

Phil and/or Patrick have installed a bunch and can give you the pros/cons. They are a little biased, but I believe that the Old Air products are a solid unit.
I visited Vintage Air last week ironically while travelling on business. They are a great group of folks as well, but I have no experience with installing their units.
I'd google some AD trucks since dashes are the same. You'll see dozens of examples of pics with vents installed. Unless you were fortunate enough to sit in the front 2 spots, you were S.O.L. Those vinyl seats and huge clear glass windows made that thing like a greenhouse! I don't ever want to go back there again. Nor will I ever put my kids through that. | | |
