Well, paid my admission price today. Thanks to info here I ID'd it pretty close, except for the month!
6TB053580
Oakland, CA., 1938 1.5 ton dually, not sure of the month, 52,579th off the line.

Anyone help with the month code?
Oh, it's in great shape, are the wheel slaves usually rebuildable? Ones leaking, I assume its a larger version of my '60 1/2 ton??
Thanks!
Tom

Tom,

Welcome to the Big League!

Here's the way I see you Serial Number...

6 = Oakland, CA Assembly Plant
T = 1938 1-1/2 ton
B = 131-1/2" wheel base Dually
05 = May
3580 = Unit number starting with 1001. This makes your truck the 2,580th TB out of Plant 6.

Dang! You're good!
Thanks very much!
My truck is Brewster Green and black, which I'm sure is common. It seems really straight, and intact. The last owner fabricated a sheet metal glove box with light, a heavy guage side box, and a battery mount. I was told it has a six volt VW wiper motor, replacing the vacuum unit. It has a old style radio antenna, but no evidence of a radio or speakers having been installed. (Whew!)

Carl - the vin buster in the tech tips will work for big bolts, they use the same vin scheme as other bolts
