I have almost everything to do the swap from 3sp to t-5, but ran into some problems in matching up parts.

turns out that my 56 motor has a 53 fly wheel and starter,PP and clutch. So in order to keep the Flywheel and small, I can not use the RCF 4201 disc. Its too large. Went to the RCF4190 that was recomended by others with the same flywheel combo and it seem to fit, but the center spring mount is larger than the 4201 and may hang up on inner pp edge. Soooo, I found a newer style pp CA1068 that allows the center clearance and the right size for the disc, but it has the raised fingers for the throw out bearing and not the flat style like the original.

So, the question of the day for the T-5 swap experts is: Will the difference in the fingers allow me to use the stock throw out bearing and not have it continuously riding on them?

or: should I get the replacement stock PP from Classic Chevy and have the center opened up to allow for the clearance issue on the new disc?

Its a snug fit and would not require a lot of machine work. May be a little file work on the bench may clear it up. The CA1068 PP will bolt right up but the issue of the fingers is question.

It seems to me you could use the short T.O. brg. It matches the beehive type clutch.

Thanks, will check the short vs. long tomorrow. Thought that was an option too. Found a post on throw out bearings in which you elaborated on the difference and printed it.
