Once I narrowed it down I built a model kit and bought the actual paint I picked and painted it. Gave me that extra boost of confidence I had it right.

Welcome to Stovebolt.com. I live just down the river from you.
About 12 years ago, I found a very helpful website that did just what you are asking for. You requested a color and it changed the color of a 1947-53 1/2 ton Chevrolet pickup (side view). You could also request different colors for fenders and body (but, no two-tone top & bottom). I cannot find the bookmark (and, most likely that website is gone, anyway).

Cab one color, fenders/runningboards different color. If you have no luck finding a program, I can do it for you-in my sparetime  ... not much of that these days. All I need to know is year and 3 or 5 window and colors your wanting to try.

You can pick your truck,play with colours and wheel combos,you can even lower it to suit your own requirements. This might be similar to what Tim(tclederman) was referring to. Visualizer.
