I see threads and pictures on air flow and recirculating heaters, but my heater does not look like any of these. It is shaped like a cube/box with the heater core laying flat at the top of the unit. The fan blows air from the base of the unit.
I took it apart to clean and paint it up. I will post pictures once I complete the rebuild. You are missing the white arvin script on the front. That is what the oddly spaced holes in the front are for, that is to mount the script. I have/had one in my 52. I disassembled, sand blasted, primed, and painted it, also while it was disassembled I had the core cleaned and pressure tested. I then found another heater that had a good script, but no motor. I hadn't started on the new case, when I got a super deal on a working deluxe fresh air heater. I looked high and low for one like that, and after a year gave up. That is how I wound up with a second case. So I could cast a new script for my heater. It is a good deal I think, it beats buying a case (if you can find one)the casting resin ect. The last one I saw that had been cleaned and painted went for over $80. I cut out a section of the sheet metal box with the Arvin logo and sent it out to Rick. Too much work to restore the rusty old box for only $80 value. But, if you want the heater core and/or fan, let me know and I will grab those parts before throwing the whole lot out.
