My name is Frank and I am new to Stovebolt.com and I posted this subject yesterday on the DIYT formum and today in the General Truck Talk Forum. Red58 suggusted that the General Truck Talk and Body and Paint forums may appreciate these pictures as well. I found these pictures a few months back. If you have not seen them you are in for a real treat. In 1959 (or possibly late 1958), LIFE Magazine photographer Fritz Goro visited the Tarrytown, NY Chevrolet assembly plant. He took some amazing color photos of Chevrolet cars and trucks being built. From the early stages of body sheet metal stampings being welded together, to final vehicle inspection the photos tell a story. To enthusiasts of Chevrolet history, this collection of photos is priceless. These rare assembly line pictures show all of the passenger car models being built, which includes Impala, Bel Air, Biscayne, and the station wagons… Nomad, Kingswood, Parkwood and Brookwood. You can even see a Sedan Delivery and a few pickups. Enjoy…

Glad you joined Stovebolt and provided that pic link.Very interesting. There are so many positve and negative things about that assembly line.I'll just say those UAW guys did a pretty good job under the conditions they worked within.

Those are some awesome pictures
That's what I like to see when doing a full restoration back to original.
It's nice to see how the factory did things
It answers a lot of questions.
Thanks for sharing!
