My rear main seal is leaking bad and was wondering what is available to stop the leak so i will not have to do again

Well the only thing you can do is replace it,get a service manual and it tells you how,there is nothing you can ad to the oil to fix it.

The reason most rear mains leak is there is to much play in the rear main bearing.It might be time to remove the engine and rebuild it.

The engine has been rebuilt so thats not the problem

Then just replace the seal.

Iguess my question would be rope or neopreme seal i know it needs replaced, pros ,cons

A 1960 engine should accept a neoprene seal if the seal surface has not been turned down during a crank regrind.
I prefer a neoprene seal.
