Second: external gaskets, In particular the valve cover,lifter gallery, and oilpan, are these gaskets the same size as the 235 cu. in. motor or specific to the 261?

First question: I think I used the neoprene seal on my 1960 261 (both styles of seals came in the gasket set). Wait to hear a confirmation that this is possible/correct.
Second question: yes, same-year 235s and 261 would use the same external gaskets (except, maybe, the thermostat gasket).
