Since 1973, despite my best efforts, I have suffered with a driver's side door that wouldn't close right, squeaked when opened, rattled all the time and let in all manor of noise, dust and vermin. (And not to mention occasionally flying open when going around corners).

I am glad to report that after a weekend of tweaking and tapping, much bolting and unbolting of hinges and striker plate, installation of a new latch, gluing (and cursing) of new gaskets, my door opens without a squeek, closes and latches without a bang, and rattles no more.

It just doesn't get much better than this.

Congratulations to you!! Ive been there many times and it usually takes a full, dedicated day, to get the doors working properly and safely.
Plus, its pretty * embarrassing to be going down the road and have a door fly open when you just hit a small bump in the road.
Not many people want to ride with you.

It seems like such a small thing, but it's wonderful isn't it? I still have one "slammer" on my panel. I know my neighbours will be happy when I get to that project.

Sure is nice when they close right. That was one of the first things I noticed when I went to look at my most recent purchase. Both doors closed and latched like new. Small details can be sooooo important to one's sanity.
