So after reading all the threads on window installation we got the rear window re-installed to day, then moved on to the corner windows but had no luck. The rubber we got from ClassicParts for all the windows, and for the rear window it worked good. The problem is the corner window retainer is not fitting on the cab. first it doesn't seem to want to fit on the flange nor does it "fill-up" the flange in the areas that it does fit on. The following pic show the rear window retainer(A) and the corner retainer (B). The slit for the flange in B is not as deep thought it is a bit smaller for the tight turns. Does this look like the correct retainer for the corner glass. David,as far as I was aware the rubbers for both the rear and corner glasses were the same.

However,what you have there should still work.
The important part is the centre of the 'H' section.(1/4" approx)
As long as that thickness is the same between the two rubbers they should work.
The smaller profile is to be truthful a little more tricky to work with,due to the lack of overlap on the glass and metalwork.

Sometimes the corners of the rubber look wrong once the glass is in place but
once the lock strip is installed it will close up and tighten the seal.
I'm not sure if you've seen this but if not,it might help.

Always start with STEELE rubber. Youll end up with a smile on your face. Then you can save the cuss words for something else.
Seriously,,stay away from the Taiwan/China rubber parts,,no matter how impressive the label looks. Ive been there too many times, and kicked myself for trying to save the extra 6 or 8 dollars.
IF IT AINT STEELE,DONT DO THE DEAL.

I'll second that Marty, the cheap a** ROC rubber on mine is dry rotted already and the dang thing hasn't even been on the road yet!
I imagine the problem would be even worse for you guys with a relatively dry/hot climate.

Got it. I was putting the rubber on the truck first, then decided to put it on the glass first and shaaazam(sp?) it went right in, with the aid of a small string to pull the rubber over the lip, as well as some soapy water. I'll take some pics of the steps when I do the other side and post them.

You are actually meant to put the rubber on the body first,but if the rubber on glass worked for you,then great.
Doing it that way there's a risk of either tearing the rubber or worse still cracking the glass if it's laminated.

In my tech tip,I suggest to put the rubber on the body for a few days to allow it to take a 'set.'
