Well, after looking at the information at the links above, you might want to consider buying the Shop Manual and the Owner's Manual.

Also, a 1940 Chevrolet Truck Specifications Manual is available for download from the GM Heritage Archive (NOTE: that link will download a 2.5MB file (that you could print out, if you want to do so).
