The temperature gauge is one that has lights, no pointer. When you first start up, the gauge will have a green light indicating cold, when it reaches temperature, no lights, and if it is too hot, it will light up red indicating hot. Problem is the hot light comes on when the cold light comes on and when the cold light goes out the hot light stays on. There are two wires that go to the temperature sensor that screws into the head. Questions: 1. Does anyone have a wiring diagram, or can explain to me how this works. I am used to one-wire going to the temperature sensor, not two. 2. Even if I pull both wires off of the sensor, the hot light will still stay on. How come ? Thanks in advance.

One wire goes to the cold light & 1 goes to the hot. The switch grounds the corresponding light. If the hot light stays on the wire must be shorted. The ignition switch turns the hot light on when in the start position. This is to test the light. There could be a problem with the ignition switch or it may be wired wrong. I like to start with a new switch whenever I get a vehicle with a light. Then you know if it gets hot it will work. You should be able to ground each wire & the corresponding light comes on.
