Hey folks
I posted a while ago and wanted opinions on a truck I was looking at; unfortunately, she was sold before I got to it; however, I'm in the process of purchasing a 51 from a gentleman in northern california; I'm not very familiar with these truck (though I will be studying hard) and I wanted to know if you guys have a recommendation of a mechanic near by that's both familiar with the early 50s chevy trucks, and is not looking to pay off his yacht through me!

thank you again and I will post pics of her once she arrives!

I live in Mission Viejo, CA

You will end up being the best mechanic for the decision. Go look at the truck and kick the tires. You will know what the value is to you and if you want the truck. Others recommendations are a dime a dozen.

I hope this helps

Two weeks ago there were three AD trucks listed on craigslist. One in Covina, one in Long Beach, and the other in Ventura.

I called on them thinking I could leave my 48 in Texas when I move to LA in the fall. You have nice trucks in California.

I wish you the best of luck

Thanks guys, the truck is in Castroville, (nor cal) and I already went up and saw it and liked it; at this point, it doesn't need much

I just wanted to know if you guys have a recommendation for a shop in orange county for the future

I use to live in OC years ago and can't really recommend anyone there. Good mechanics are tough to come by. It seems like anyone who can walk and talk is qualified to be called a mechanic these days.

As already mentioned by Dennis. There are quite a few that show up all the time on Craigslist.

Best of luck with your search.
