Yes Bill, I agree, that looks like a hole plug. I don't see how it would work as a knob for a control cable unless you used a putty knife every time you wnated to pull out the cable.
I don't think you've looked far enought on that one twotone, try and pry it out.
I don't have to pry it out, it pulls out with finger and thumb.
You say it works like a regular choke knob. What does it do when you pull it out?
The very same thing the choke knob does in my '53 GMC. The only difference is the knob itself, the rest of the cable etc. is the same as stock and works the same.

So does this truck. It is only the choke knob that looks like this, the throttle knob is stock.
This is a choke cable that works like a stock cable. It is only the appearance of the knob itself that is different. I just thought that someone might have seen one before. It’s no big deal.
