Does anyone know what 6 cylinder engine came in a 63 1/2 ton?

I believe that the 235 ended in 1960 but don't know for sure

the 235 went until 62, with some available in '63 I've heard - after that the 230 was standard and a 292 would have been the optional 6

yeah, the 235 went to 62...the 230/292 went to 65 then they went to the 250/292. Chevy also lists the 194 in the 63 book, but I have never seen one installed in a truck. i believe most of those went to cars and maybe the corvair trucks.

The 194 was primarily a Chevy 2/Nova, and later is saw use in the Chevelle/El Camino/G 10. The Corvair used a completely different engine, a horizontally opposed 6 cylinder, not shared with any other GM vehicle line.

I believe the 153 and 194 only showed up in vans in the truck series.

I've got a '64 C-10 LWB Step Side that has what looks like the original tiny Radiator still in it. I always believed that it was possibly an original 153, or maybe a 194 truck.

The 153 is a 4 cylinder engine.
The 230 could come from the factory with the small radiator

Corvair used air cooled engines.............

The 63 chevy truck Shop manual does list a 4cyl 153cu in engine also. Rated at 90hp and 152# torque

Corvair trucks never used the stovebolt six. They used the same basic engine as the Corvair car: 145/164 cid flat six - air cooled.

My 63 C-10 has the original 230 base engine , so unless the engine was an upgrade option that is likely what it was.

First time I saw this truck I said "That's the one!"
