Mike, Make sure your bags have a little weight, and we will be fine. What time does everyone wanna leave? I'm good for 6:30 am if thats what everyone wants to do.

Looks like great weather on Friday and Saturday with highs around 50. I might set up the 5th wheel camper as the ODSS bunkhouse depending on overnight lows. It has heat and electricity and should be plenty of room.

As per ODSS SOP, pork tenderloin will be served with green beans cooked in country ham broth. We will also have pasta salad on the menu for the evening meal on Friday. HOPEFULLY, John Milliman will whip up a batch of his famous beans.

Saturday breakfast will be biscuits and gravy, per ODSS bylaws.

ODSS members can bring snacks, beverages and whatever else you might want/need.

Sorry but I'm going to have to bail on ya again. I am not going to be able to get away this weekend.

Have a great time and if anyone wants to do the beans:

Using a crockpot, dump in 4 of the large cans of Bush's Baked beans.

Add 1 whole polska kielbasa sliced up and halved
Add one whole onion, chopped up
Add a small jar of mild salsa
Throw in some garlic seasoning and hot sauce

Let cook on low all night. In the morning, throw in a beer (MUST be a Northern European or Japanese Lager -- preferably a Beck's or a Kirin. Asahi or Heineken will do. Go Australian as a last resort. If all you have is Mexican or American beer .... fuhgeddaboutit) Do NOT use an Ale -- you might as well put weasel pee in it -- it will taste the same.

Have a swell time.

I'm not sure if the possible snow storm on Sunday affects the plans for our plowing brothers, but I figured I'd check. We are still on unless you all want/need to call for a push-back. John M and Billy are out for this weekend, so we'll be missing two key ODSS brothers.

Sorry to hear John and Billy won't be in attendance, can we still call it a Winter Classic without them??

Cosmo and I are planning to leave our respective homes 6:30 ish this evening.

I'll bring a nice 36" long 3/4" ratchet this time and an assortment of sockets in case we find some nice wheels.
No highlift, Dad's got it with the trailer this weekend, George do you still have one?

I have the Highlift jack on hand. Can't think of any other tools we might need. Sweet is bringing his rearend tools, in case they're needed. For the electrically gifted, I could use help troubleshooting the headlights on my new '66 4x4. I've got a tester on hand, but I stink at electrical issues.

Since John Boy and Billy are out, we'll call it the "Winter Casual Get-Together". We'll reserve "Classic" for when they are on hand.

Note- I hope you all can eat a lot of tenderloin. I got two this year and without John and Billy, we all have to step-up our intake.

Had a great time at the Winter Casual Get-Together. John, Billy and Cosmo were missed by all... Frankie might have even shed a tear.

Thanks to all that attended; the ODSS is a great bunch of guy's. Last night, my wife mentioned how nice everybody in the gang is and that you all are welcome any time. She really enjoyed seeing everyone again and getting to talk to the crew.

Thanks again John for the Dobro for Jack. He loves it and has already been on the internet learning how to play it.

Thanks to Hambone for the real maple syrup imported from "up north" and thanks to Andrew for making up a batch of beans for the gang... Kiska is glad they spilled all over the side of your truck.

Thanks to everybody for the help on my projects and hopefully we can get together again soon. They've downgraded our snowfall to 1-3", so I'll have good weather to keep working on the '66.

Question: What should the punishment be for leaving an official ODSS adjustable wrench at the home of a fellow member? I won't mention his name, but it rhymes with Sweet.

Sweet ... Apparently this conversation (Under ODSS Jurisprudence Guidelines) is serving as your arraignment and Grand Jury. You have entered a guilty plea. Therefore, there will be no court martial. You are headed directly to the sentencing phase. Cosmo, as convening authority, may pass sentence.

As your legal counsel in this case, I only wish you had consulted with me prior to pleading -- I'm confident we could have plead to a lesser offence... Oh well. Maybe I can get you a reduced sentence ...

If the court so pleases ... Mr. President, my client was suffering from extreme mental duress at the time of the offence, was not aware that he was committing the offence, and, due to his decreased mental acuity at the time of the offence, was unable to make a determination that it was wrong anyway. I urge the court to impose a JUST sentence of the punishment already served (i.e., the pain, suffering and humiliation incurred from his so-called "Brothers" in the ODSS). My client will learn from this and be a better man. Heaping more punishment upon my client, who already feels miserable and ashamed, would be cruel and vindictive. Is that what we are??? I say we are better than that, your Honor! This is an opportunity to prove once again something that we already know -- that you are a wise, just and merciful man without even a taint of sadism or cruelty. Do the right thing, Mr. President!

Sorry to have missed the ODSS-Bean-Fest-Junkyard-Crawl-Proof-That-We-Are-Alive-In-Mid-Winter-Get-Together, goodness, that would be lettering for one busy 'T-shirt'!! I got into a knife fight with the intake and exhaust gaskets, lost round one badly and then rallied for the second round. As the only vehicle in the garage I was forced to do the right thing as I had a noticeable exhaust leak from a badly cracked one piece gasket. This gasket was proclaimed by the vendor to be the greatest invention since the root beer truck and the ice truck collided into eachother at a blind intersection thereby giving us Ice Cold Root Beer. Alas, no one person had thought of it before.

I have an old truck mechanic guru-friend that 'talked me off the ledge' with the wonderful phrasing, "Many a good inline mechanic has gone in there and come out with a leaker". I took this good advice to heart as I went in the second time and did copious note taking and check-off lists to achieve mechanical Nirvana. Indeed, a splended time was assured for the youngster from central Virginny.

Mr. President's sentence has been carried out. Now that my debt to society has been paid, back to business.

In addition, per Hambone's request, a case of beer is the least I can do for my actions.

Thank you Brother Milliman for my defense. Should I find myself in future legal issue, I will consult counsel prior to speaking. However as SAA I am expected to be an example so that is why I swiftly admitted my grave error hoping for mercy.
