The engine is still in the car. I've taken both bolts out and the two small bolts that go into the front plate. I've really put some pressure on this cap and it seems very stuck, as though there could be more bolts or something I don't know about.

The cap will move, but it's a struggle sometimes!

I was considering just leaving it, even though 2 of the 3 bearings I've taken off so far have been bad. I guess the smart thing to do is find a way to get in there and get the sucker off now that I know there aren't any more bolts anywhere.

Brandon | | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | There was most likely gasket cement used on the timing plate gasket, which covers the front face of the front bearing cap, when assembled. They can be stuck pretty good.
