some time back i bought a4.3 chevy eng and trans.i would like find out what ihave.it is a 350 turbo.the only markings it has,is 1986 neatly welded on side..notags on it. any help?

now that i have figureed out what tranny i put in my truck,i have a couple of quistions for you guys.no 1,i am using a weber carb,what do ido for the kickdown connection.no2 on the left side of the trans. there is a square plug witf 4 wires,could someone tell me for what or where they go.anyone please.now there is something you hear an old man say very often...

You can get an aftermarket kick down cable for a 700R4. The adjustment is critical for the health of the transmission. The plug is for the torque converter lockup through the computer. There is an aftermarket kit available to engage the lockup without the computer. The pan has to be removed to install the conversion. Many just use the trans without the lockup.

thank you fred.i will look for a kit ,for the kickdown switch..removing the pan is not a prolbem.

old dummy is back.i am looseing sleep over this guys,is there away to use my 700r4 trans without useing the tv cabel?i am useing a weber carb and i cannot see a way to hook up the cabel.enlightin me more.sorry guys i am getting old...

you need that cable hooked up
the cable is how the trans know
the engine load to rise pressure in the trans
if not set right will smoke the clutchs

you need to fab up what's necessary for your particular setup - a DIY project with pictures - and check around Bowtie overdrives for different kits - TV cable setup
