For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 21 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 21 | Could this be an original option/accessory or is it more likely a later unit that just happens to work/fit in these pickups? It looks nothing like an original Chevy heater of that era(about 12" or so square with a slightly rounded bottom and has a nice 3D "Arvin" applique on the front of it). Sorry, no pics. The last owner had no knowledge of if it was added later or original to the truck. It works just fine, I just want to know what it is. A lot of things have been changed on my pickup before I got it. Arvin did make heaters for chevy & other autos in the 1950s. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 | My '52 had a Arvin heater in it when purchased. I have since ripped it out and sourced GM delux heater, controls, valves, etc. That Arvin hanging down just looks plain ugly. | | |
