I need help with the Lower Radiator Hose part number. I have a 1956 3100 with the stock radiator in the 6-cylinder location with a sbc V8 engine. What hose will work? I'd like to find a molded hose and not use the universal flex hose.

Thanks,

Mike B smile

Hy Mike B, see if you can look at Dayco p/n 70277 $9.23 at RockAuto, they do show a picture , but give no dimensions. Original application 1959 1/2 ton V8, hope that helps.

Thanks 3B,

I crossed that hose to NAPA 7165 and that might work...I'll call my local NAPA tomorrow and see if they have it in-stock.

I have a NAPA 7695, but the leg coming off of the water pump is to short allowing it to touch the AC belt as it makes the 90* bend heading for the radiator. The 7165 looks longer...

I'll keep you posted.

I have used the lower hose for a 65 V-8 truck in a couple of TF 6 to V-8 conversions. It needs to be cut slightly but has the correct bend. I don't remember the PN but most parts stores should be able to look it up. The stock TF V-8 hose is too short because of the location of the radiator.

I ended up using a NAPA 7694. It is 1-3/4" hose with a 90* bend. It clears the AC belt and goes straight into the radiator. It could have used a couple degree bend at the radiator end, but the hose is long enough that it's not a problem.

I'll take a look at the 65 truck hose...it might be better?

Thanks,
