The distance from one backing plate to the other is 52.5"...I have gone to several junk yards and there so many...but no cigar in a close measurement...I will be mating this to a 700R4 transmission. Most truck rears from the mid 50's on up should fit the bill. An S10 rear should be easy to find with lower gears, as well as a Ford Explorer 8.8 rearend. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 | If you have a 46 3/4 ton, you already have an open drive rearend. Is your truck 6 lugs or 8 lugs? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 355 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 355 | i don't know how much difference there is in my 38 and your 46 but i have a s-10 rear i got with my truck "not installed" it has a disk setup and from every measurement i did the disk brakes would be hitting the frame so add tires to that and i don't see that working to well
1937 1/2 ton
