Has anybody here had any luck talking to a machine shop to make a run of ring and pinion gears for 3600's for highway use? I live by a machine shop and know the owners son through our mutual interest in Hurst Olds and 442's. I've been thinking of approaching him but if someone else has made some headway already please let me know. How many on here would be buy a set if the price was right...and what would be an acceptable price to you? And what gear ratio would most like to have? I would need to be able to give him numbers so he could decide if it was feasable.

Check out Denny Grahams post in the section, "Taint no such thing as new 3.90 or 4.10 gears." It has about all the information you need. Another idea is swapping the rearend. Many 'bolters have swapped in later model Dana 60's and 14 bolts.
