I'm rebuilding a Carter W-1 574 carb for my truck and am stuck at one point of the reassembly. Under the dust cover there is a rotary spring that keeps the pump lever in contact with the plunger rod. I can't remember how that spring goes back on. Can anyone help me with a picture or diagram showing that spring? Thanks in advance for any help

The short leg of the spring goes through the hole and the longer leg goes down and hooks around the round push rod. Kind of a up-side-down L. I took some pictures with my phone but you really cant see anything. I can try again if you need it.

Ok - which hole are you talking about. The hole on the lever or the hole on the pump rod. My pump rod is the rectangular one not a round one. A picture would be really great if possible. Thanks!

Just another thing. My spring has one end with a bent 90 degree end. The other end of the spring is straight.

I've got a photo and can post it tomorrow morning.
