Hello,
Does anyone know if there is a company that makes replacement kits for the interior wood? (Wood bows for windows and side walls). If not, what have other done to replace this wood and what have you used?

Thanks, Russ Sweet

When I got my 46 Burb most of the wood on the RH side under the window was in bad shape. I sealed it in epoxy to keep it from getting worse.

I then found a good cabinet maker and for $750.00 he reproduced every piece on both sides that was bad.

I then sealed all of it in epoxy and put it all back in place.

I tried several places that advertised that they did this but none of them had the information in order to make it for me.

As for the 4 window frames, mine were still in very good condition so it was not an issue. I just sealed them in epoxy and went on and stored them till I get to that point in my reconstruction.

RSweet; When I did my 1939 Chev Suburban I simply remove the old wood and made my own parts. Now if you can find someone local who likes to work with wood, show them what you have and ask if they would be intrested in making new parts. Fortunately I have been involved with wood for some years and made my own parts out of maple. The hardest part was the section just under the rear side windows that curve back to the rear doors.Keep all the old wood until you are sure the new wood fits O.K.
e-mail me and I can send some photos. Stan
