I picked up a decent '52 GMC 1 ton eariler this year. King Pins wobble like a new sailor at 4 am on his first shore leave in Thailand.

With Christmas behind me, time to tinker.
I suspect these are a pain to remove and may well use a local machine shop to perform the work.

Where can i source a set of king pins?

What caveats do i need to be aware of? I suspect - these need to be reamed. Spindles look decent.

I looked over links on stovebolt.com but vendors are wide and varied as to what they may actually carry for the GMC 1 ton's. 1/2 or 3/4 ton stuff galore but seems limited for 1 ton trucks.

Thanks,
Rob in San Diego.

My machine shop can source parts but I would think FLAPS would have them. The bushings press in and they have to be reamed.

I just replaced mine from a FLAPS (friendly local auto parts store) here in Rapid City. Then took the spindles and pins to a local alignment shop to have them matched to each other.

If you're out in the boonies Carter's has a pretty good selection of king pins for the 1-ton.

Rockauto.com has 1952 GMC 250 king pin sets in standard diameter, and .010 over and .020 over sized diameter.
