I visited a guy last weekend who recently rebuilt a 65 GMC V-6 motor. It had a plaid paint design on the valve covers from the factory! Does anyone out there know why this was done??? Just curious. Any input is welcome.

I was under the impression it was to appear Scottish(even tho Grabowski sounds Polish), therefore frugal to operate/maintain. Guess they never figured the gas mileage of one of those V6's. | | |
