I Want to swap fenders on my GMC 4000 and need to know if any fender from 60-66 ( except LCF ) would work on my truck. It has the 7" wide fender flare to accomodate the bigger f070 axle. The truck is also a 24,000 gvw truck . Thanks Bluce in Frederick. | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,061 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,061 | Hy bluce, you have a 1965 truck, according to my Canadian parts book the 7000 lb. front axle fenders are the same from 1963 - 66, pns 3856108 right, and 3856107 left. These are not the widest fenders available, the 9000, 11000, 12000lb. axle fenders are wider. The cowl fenders (school bus fenders) have a different p/n, so they probably won't fit either, hope that helps. | | | | Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 5,470 Bond Villain | Bond Villain Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 5,470 | Bluce,
You might want to check with Mike B -- He might still have a set of fenders with that wide flare to fit your truck -- I was going to use them on my truck a few years ago but mine are the 3 inch flare and the wide flare would have looked odd on my set up.
With a 24,000 GVW, are you sure your truck is a 4000? My '65 4000 is rated at 19,500 on the VIN plate.

They're not here so I figure I gave 'em back to you ... We ended up just using the original fenders ... Bondo and fibreglass is amazing stuff ...

Did you give them to Dale? Mike B | | |
