Fellow Stovebolters,

I am working on my 1954 3100 and am currently installing my new suspension components. The problem I am having is that I am unable to remove the shackle pins and bushings from the "fixed" ends of the old suspension. Has anyone else run into a similar problem? Any ideas? Thanks

John

The pins are threaded and usually will just unscrew easily. If yours are rusted in place you might try a pair of vice grips or channel-lock pliers to put a little more force on them. Maybe a few shots of Kroil or some other penetrating oil if they are really rusted in there.

After you get the pins out there is a DIY bushing puller article in the Tech Tips link above.

Good luck.
