I purchase some cam bearings for my Chevy 250 Inline 6. Both are Dura Bond P/N CH-7 & CH-11.
Just looking at them I dont see a differance?

I'm not familar with the 250 but does it only have 2 bearings? Cam bearings are usually differnt ID's with the rear bearing being the smallest in Diameter and progressivly larger toward the front of the engine to enable easier installation of the camshaft. The 216's and 235's have 3 cam bearings,

This PDF file addresses both, the housing bore for the CH-7 looks to be .01 larger than the CH-11.

There are 4 Cam Bearings total on a 230 or 250 cid inline 6 engine.
I check out the PDF File you posted Fredoly.
I did not know the CH-5-2 were for position 1&4.
And the CH-5-3 are for position 2&3.
I will have to tell my machine shop befor they put in the new bearings. They have the block and bearings now. May be they allready know the position of my bearings?
For any one that did not know; on the cam bearing it is stamp CH-5-2 or CH-5-3. I gess there is both types in the box of a set of CH7 cam bearings. And only 4 CH-5-3 are in the CH11 box?
Thank You for the help.

yes on the older blocks they have the 2 sizes, pre 197?. on later ones all 4 bearings are same od. the id is same on all bearings. i hope your machine shop would know this already. they are not too difficult to install yourself and you would know they are right and wouldn't cause binding on cam. you just have to be careful to get the oil holes lined up perfectly and you need a can bearing instailation tool. mine has already paid for itself with the 250 and 292's i've done.
