Installed a new rear tank in my 55.1. Tank is made specifically for this truck. The tank install went very well. Flanges and fitment is good.

Now the problem. The filler flange is on top of the tank, which is fine. I planned on installing a flush mount filler cap in the wood bed. The problem is that the flange on the tank is 1/4" below were the bottom of the wood bed would be. The filler cap also has a flange on it. This would not allow rubber connection and clamps to be installed to the two flanges.

Solution - I used 2"x2" perforated galv. sign post material as spacers between the frame and tank flanges. Seems to work okay.

Anyone else run into this?
