If you really want to hear the starter motor connect the positive lead to the large lug on the starter switch, ground the housing and push on the button on the starter switch using a large screw driver pry bar.

Just connect to the big terminal at the starter and push the linkage with a pry bar to engage the drive. Be careful not to short out the jumper cable clamp with the stomp linkage.

Hook your battery up as suggested by Hotrod and Tiny, then press the stomp starter pedal. If the engine turns over, you might as well see if you can get it to start and run. I think it would sell better.
