But i also found that on the passenger front, the actual brake line itself (it splits out of a T and loops through a hole in the frame for the hose to connect to) is snapped too. If i were to just replace that entire section with a new hose, instead of a small section of brake line and then hydraulic hose, would there be any change in pressure from the different size diameter of the smaller line to a slightly bigger hose?

However, changing the original design will get you into a gray area with the US Department of Transportation, which sets requirements for safety of operation items like steering, tires, and brakes. In case of an accident, your insurance company might have an excuse not to pay a claim if you're running non-DOT-approved brake parts. I spend a lot of time doing warranty claim inspections, and it's surprising how nit-picking insurance companies and warranty providers can get. Try running into a school bus full of kids and being on the receiving end of millions of dollars worth of lawsuits, and watch how quickly your insuror turns into a weasel! Don't give 'em a loophole to jump out of!

Too much liability for the school system if one of my little rugrats went out and wrecked a car after we had modified it! Ambulance-chasing lawyers just love to sue school districts with multi-million dollar budgets.
