old truck web site

My truck originally had fiberglass repairs made on them. It seemed OK, but very ugly. I decided to get replacement running boards because I felt it was a "high traffic" area, especially since with the four wheel drive installed, the truck sits much higher and you have no choice but to use the running boards to enter the cab. Again, just an opinion. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 649 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 649 | Simple answer "yes" body filler will work, provided it is applied according to instructions. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,378 Ex Hall Monitor | | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,378 | I agree with Yakimabowtie. Body plastic is designed to be flexible enough to stay put on running boards IF mixed correctly and applied to a clean rough surface. Back in the mid '60s I worked for a Chevy dealership in Kansas City KS in the used car body shop. We used a LOT of plastic . The boss had me do some patching on the sales office concrete steps. In 2010 on the way home from our vacation we stopped by the old dealership site. The dealership has burned to the ground in the '80s but the used car shop & sales office was still there. My patching was still holding & in good shape.
