All it says is to "remove rocker arm cover and attach engine lifting tool."we have disconnected everything except engine mounts and are sorta stumped.Just wrap chain around rocker arms,back up the ol jeep and give er a tug? Just kidding. Any advice from those in the know?-Thank you

Take one head bolt with you and match the size.Remove the rocker assembly remove two head bolts and off you go.
Good luck,and be safe that engine is a heavy one!!!

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,777 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,777 | It doesn't hurt the cylinder head, but be sure you don't get the light-duty eye bolts that aren't welded or forged where the loop joins itself. The thread size is 1/2" X 13. I like to use heavy-duty forged eye bolts, if they can be found with a long enough thread to duplicate the length of the head bolt. Otherwise, be sure to weld the eye into a continuous loop before putting the weight of the engine on them. It's also a good idea to weld a heavy flat washer just below the eye so the eye bolts can be turned down snug against the head.

| | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 | bg61, I got mine at the ace near my house they are good for 2000 lbs. each ,they are forged like Jerry said and cost 8.00 bucks each.I also built a spanner out of 2X2 angle iron to keep the chains staight going to the eye bolts.
