Should I just spot weld along the inside braces or maybe just use some kinda rubber insulator between hood and frame? That old wood shim has gotta go!!!

I was trying to sell truck b-4 starting the resto job. Didn't sell- one buyer said there was a terrible vibration. Turns out it was just the hood!!! I couldn't get your pics to come though but I "get the picture" !!! Anyway, does anyone sell the rubber for the hood? If not I guess any 1/4 inch or so rubber will work. Thanks- gotta get to work on the 52- trying to make Charlotte car show April 19-22 to sell the ole girl!!!

as I know, no one has had any problems opening it and I‘ve been using the same format
for years.
You should try again, I've got the original cushion and it's replacement pretty well
documented there with sizes and all. You can get a 12” square of foam from any
hobby or craft shop like Michaels.

and can't get it to open.
Digital caliprers are actually cheaper than a dial calipers now days, and it's quicker than eye balling it with a tape measure.
