I'm working on a 1952 GMC that the radio area on the dash has bee hatched by somebody. I'm either going to patch the area for a stock type radio or smooth it and put radio elsewhere. What have you done??????????????

My dash is stock / uncut, so my stereo is in the glove box.

I used the recent new comer ...the "Retro-Sound" unit.
This one is set up for Chevy AD dashboards 47-53.
No cutting was required.

The pics below are the 51 panel I'm doing right now.

(Yes, that's lizard skin on the dash!)

The knobs are infinitely adjustable and can be independent of
the head if necessary. Has SD card slot, two iPod inputs, and a USB slot on
a slick little dongle that can be mounted out of the way or under the dash.

240 watts by itself or you can add a separate amp for more power.

That looks good Squire. What is your take on whether or not the face of the radio could be painted? I am not much for chrome.

Hi 'Tmater

Yes that plastic chrome surround face you see could easily be painted ... I'm
sure the knobs could be painted as well; although I think Retro-Sound
has various face and knob options ....

hope this helps
