My '52 6400 came with a flat on the inside dual and I need that tire to line up with the trailer ramp for loading/unloading. I removed it from the truck and broke it down. Good thing I had the owners manual to tell me where to find the pry slot in the ring. I've worked on plenty of 3 piece wheels in the old days but never a 2 piece, so this was new for me. I suspected it may be a bad core but as I was pounding the bead loose, lots of dust kept spewing out of the valve stem hole in the wheel. I figured it had been flat for some time and had dirt inside and I was right. I vacuumed about a pound of dirt out of the tire after I got it apart. I checked the tube for any leaks but only the core leaked, so I replaced that and put 'er back together. I forgot how hard the tire guys worked on these old split wheel trucks. I also discoverd the outside wheel is the large center hole and should probably be replaced. The inner fit the hub so tight that I had to remove 3 of the axle flange bolts and washers to get it off.

If the outside has a larger center hole, it comes from a later model. And it does need to be replaced because these wheels were hub piloted. The studs were not designed to pilot the wheel.
