Trying to pull the steering arm off its bolts so I can pull off the brake flange plate and pound out those kingpins. Is that thing pressed on somehow? I cannot for the life of me get that thing to separate or the bolts to come out. If it wasn't so tight I'd push the pickle-fork in there but its a little too tight and don't want to break anything.
Also, does the kingpin lockpin just slide out once unbolted? Or is there another secret to getting that pin out of there? Thanks | | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 59 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 59 | I gently knocked the bolts out with a small hammer with the nuts still on there (so it doesnt mushroom the end) until the nuts hit the arm. then i just knocked them out the rest of the way with a punch. I believe my driver side was tight like yours. For the kingpins, just take the nut off the pin and knock it out.. i used a punch to knock it out. Im pretty sure the kit i bought had new lock pins in there so i really didnt take caution on messing them up.

Was thinking I might try heating them up to see if that'll break the seal. On my chevy, I am going to try using my ball joint/U joint clamp to press them out. | | |
