I had to cut out part of my firewall pad while installing a heater in my '49 GMC Panel. After I cut the surface, and removed the insulation, lo-and-behold, there was the tag from when it was made. Thank you for your inquiry – I did some asking around this morning and it looks like this is the same Somerville! Back in the 40’s there was an automotive division of that produced truck and car insulation liners.
If you look at the right corner it says “Displays, Games, Toys etc…”. The Somerville that exists today is located in Toronto, ON and still makes custom point of purchase displays, fixtures and signage and is now privately owned and no longer part of any other parent company.
