I have the single speed wiper motor now. How hard is it to switch to the 2 speed wipers? Just motor swap? Also...I want to find and install the original wiper switch with the windshield wiper cleaner button on it...if anybody knows where to find one. Do I have to change any wiring?

Hey Jon, In order to switch to 2 speed, you'll need the wiper motor as well as the switch. pretty commonly found in wrecker yards. I was going to go that route, but decided to just install a wiper delay switch tucked under the dash.

You can get new ones from JC whitney, i bought this one off ebay for $20, NOS part from the seventies I think.

Easy to install and you can have whatever delay time you want.

Edit: By the way, sweet stepper you've got. Are those the original 15" wheels? what size tires are you running?

Yeah, original wheels, rings and hubcaps. Im running 235/75 R15 dunlops right now. I like a little bit more height to the truck than the stock wheel height. Thanks.

You can easily find the two speed motors and switches new. Classic Parts is one place that has them, others do too. The really hard part is finding the knob that has the washer button on it. Only one I have ever seen on a '63 is the one off my C20, and that's being saved to go back in. Also, take a look at your wiper motor first. You may have a two speed motor and a one speed switch. Yes, this is how my C20 was set up and it still had the original parts. Kind of weird really, it had a one speed wiper switch w/ washer.

How do you tell the diference in the two motors?

The difference is easy to spot in the number of connection terminals. If the motor only has 2 terminals on it then it is single speed. 3 or 4 terminals indicates a 2 speed motor. Also, if you need the washer unit, the units marketed for '64-'66 Chevy trucks is the same unit that was an option in '63. I've done my homework on this one

The 2-speed wiper/washer knob is the same as the single-speed, but it has a hole in it for the push-button for the wiper motor. With the correct diameter drill bit, the hole can be drilled and you will have the proper knob for a wiper/washer switch knob.

Thanks Tony. Im on the look for the wiper knob now, but my local parts yards dont have one. Haven't had time to get under the dash to check the motor out yet. Been dealing with my carb isuue and truck only running with choke cable pulled out. Cant seem to find an intake leak which is what everyone was pointing at. Im gunna pull the carb again this weekend just to be sure I didnt get it blown out good enough on the mixture screw.
