So far, I am pleased with the radiator. It's a 4 core (I think I paid 230 for it) aluminum. I painted it satin black. New rebuilt 55 235 engine, with modified short low water pump. 216 16 inch fan blade barely sufficient, can cool the engine for 25 minutes at least at idle. The lower water pump and wimpy blade really are the culprit here. I have a 49 short box single wheel grain truck 3600 series. Stupid money pit project that hasn't been on the road in 30 years. Just thought I would share. thanks, Kurt

Thanks for advice I 'm sure I'll get an aluminum one. As I'm just building a farm mechanic truck. A welder some tools nothing fancy, I bought a 350 engine for it traded cam, carb, and intake should get me around, thanks

Once it's painted most people wouldn't notice except the experts. For my truck it wasn't worth spending 200 more on an original looking tank. I need to figure out the picture thing so I can add pics. thanks

That is a money pit project I could get into. Cool pics, right now now I'm really impressed with the green grass and the trees nothing but white to look at here and stil at least another 120 days until mud. My shop is a bit airy right now but the a.c. bill is really cheap. I have the 69 im trying to get running and a 59 that has a dump bed on it, I use all the time, a little 5 yard dump truck and friends come out of the woodwork come spring time. But I like cruising in the old bugger so it's not to bad. Seeing pics of your old truck reminded that there a guy up from my house that has a 53 chevy and some misc. old county trucks for sale. If you know anybody in search of a project I' ll get e-mail address or something most of his stuff is mid 60's or older
