I'm very interested in the 2 ton 6400 series AD trucks and would like to know what all one piece wheels (19.5" etc) there are that fit the 5 lug pattern? More importantly, what specific year and model trucks, step vans and other vehicles can they most likely be found on?
Please note any preferred and not so preferred (we should stay clear of) wheel designs, sizes, dimensions and tires you have came across for the 6400 AD's.

Welcome! You are in great company here. I am former Alaskan, spent '75 - '84 up there. I am now living in Portland, OR and have a '46 6400 myself. I just have stock wheels and can't offer you much insight on that score. There is TREMENDOUS
info within this site. I did find a very helpful source of original GM information on the web, FREE, at:gmheritagecenter.com I was able to find .pdf files on all original
build equipment, dimensions, and drawings for my truck and they will have yours.
It is very great to have this stuff straight from the horses mouths. If you are concerned about split rims, etc., there is a complete discussion of that issue with
all the detail you'll need right in this site. A good reason to dig around. I would like to encourage you to take pics of your truck and submit them to the Gallery with a brief story of who, what, when, where, and why. Check out what other guys have written to get an idea. If you need any help doing that just ask me.

Well I did keyword search quite a bit but did'nt come up with the answers to some specific q's but with research and a lil' o 'hep from folks such as yourself all will be well.
As far as a truck, I have'nt one - right now I am trying to educate myself on some important points before putting an add on C'list a couple weeks after Christmas.
Btw, one of the "important issues" is just in case what I do get has widowmakers I will be able to asses the situation as I definitely will be working within a tight budget... A little time now will be time well "spent".

them. It goes on for several pages and with the expertise you'll find about everything here you will find what you need to know, plus guys post pics!
Good Luck. I learned the most, and just bookmarked for future reference, many
sites and tips that were referenced in these posts. I could darn near publish a book on 1946 6400s at this point. Unfortunately, today is a day to go cut firewood. If I get done soon enough I will finish taking the head off my 235. It seems that mud wasps built a colony all through the carb, manifold, and into the cylinders! A great show for the Nature channel!

I had them listed on the sale forum but I guess the time ran out. I have a set on my 49 6400, they give the truck a lower stance but I like the look especial since I have chrome simulators all the way around. Any way i will re post the rims. Oh! welcome to the site!
