The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop T5 is in

Just finished my T5 transplant into my 46 this weekend. Took it for a little drive Sunday and it works great.

With all the information I got from fellow bolters the switch went without a hitch. I had no problems with the adaptor plate from Buffalo. I used a 9 1/8" clutch for a S10 and a 55 pumpkin (3.90)that I put into my orig. rear end. I built a bracket for the parking brake and the rear cross member per Stepenwood's tech tip. (Thanks John)

All that's left is to make an original looking stick and put a boot around it. This is going to be a great improvement to my truck. I'm happy with it.

What's next, you may ask. Well maybe dual Carter/Webbers

Congrats!!! I can feel your joy!!! Nothing like reaching over and sliding it into 5th gear and feeling that engine settle down to purr!

The only problem I've found with the T5 is that it opens the door for a lot more refinements that will add to your cruising pleasure. The Carter/Webers are the logical next step and we've pretty much got them figured out too! They sure eliminate most, if not all the typical carb problems from the old stock carbs and the setup offered by the Stovebolt Engine Co. works like a charm. Happy motoring!!!
